What is Polyurea?
It’s a new floor coating technology that is 20 times stronger than epoxy, and 98% more flexible.
It can withstand bumps, scrapes and movement in the floor. Concrete twisting and settling? Your floor will be fine. Dropped a tool on it? Worry about the tool, the floor’s ok. It’s chemically resistant to salt, oil, gas and other harsh chemicals. Polyurea coatings are more durable and install in less than half the time of competing epoxy coatings. Traditional Polyurea cures in 5-15 seconds and has been utilized for over 25 years in industrial applications such as pipe/pipeline coatings, tank linings, water treatment plants, manholes, sewer linings and automotive fascia OEM molded parts. The difference between traditional Polyurea and the Citadel Polyurea that we use is Citadel’s Revolutionary Industry leading Single Component Polyurea Solutions, which have a longer working time and can be applied using a roller or brush.
It’s Always a “Green” Floor
Polyurea is environmentally friendly, both in its creation and its application. Our Polyurea coatings contain near zero “VOCs” or volatile organic compounds. Traditional epoxies emit greenhouse gases and fumes that are dangerous to workers. The US EPA regulation for concrete protective coatings’ VOCs is set at 400 g/L. Polyurea have near-zero VOCs and fulfill the US Federal Government’s environmental requirements. So no matter what colour you choose for your floor, it’s always “green.”
